Why Psyllium Hull?

Psyllium hull, also known as Isabgol, is a health supplement used to treat constipation and other digestive disorders.  It can also be helpful with non-digestive disorders such as high cholesterol and weight loss. It is made up of 70% soluble fiber, so it acts like a bloating agent that helps with bowel movement. The effectiveness of psyllium hull depends on individual health needs and how it is taken.

1. To treat constipation

Psyllium hull increases the volume of stool. Increased stool volume promotes better bowel movement.
Psyllium hull increases the amount of water in the stool, making it softer and easier to pass.

2. To treat diarrhea

Mix 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of psyllium husk with 3 teaspoons (15 ml) of fresh curd. Take right after meals. Be sure to take with a glass of water, so your throat won’t get clogged.
Take twice daily to see results.

3. To relieve pain from anal fissures and hemorrhoids

The soluble fiber in psyllium hull helps to clear the digestive tract. The psyllium hull absorbs moisture from while passing through the digestive tract, making the stool softer and easier to pass.

4. To lose weight

Mix 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of psyllium husk, 240 ml of warm water, and 1-2 teaspoons (5-10 ml) of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Take before meals. Because of the volume of psyllium hulls, you will feel more full and eat less calories.
